About Our Life Insurance Agency in Mission Viejo
We explain how each type of policy is built before anyone talks about which one to buy. You hear what term, whole and universal life actually contain, what each costs to keep over the years, and where each one falls short.

Why we start with how a policy is built
A life insurance policy has parts, and those parts decide how it behaves over decades. A term policy is pure coverage for a set number of years, usually at a level premium. Whole life adds a cash value account that grows at a rate set in the contract, with a premium fixed for life. Universal life lets you adjust premiums and coverage, and its cash value is credited at a rate that can move. Final expense coverage is a smaller whole life policy, often with simplified underwriting.
Most people are shown a premium and a coverage amount and asked to pick. That skips the useful part. Once you know that a 20-year term policy ends with no cash value, or that a universal life policy can lapse if credited interest runs below the original projection, you can judge a quote on its own terms.
So that is how our conversations run. We ask what the coverage has to do: replace income while children are young, pay off a mortgage balance, cover funeral costs, or support retirement income planning. Then we match each of those jobs to the policy designs that fit them and show the trade-offs using the actual quotes.
How we work with clients
- 01
Every option side by side
We lay out term, whole and universal life next to each other for the same coverage amount. You see what the extra premium for permanent coverage buys and what it does not.
- 02
Riders explained before they are added
Riders such as waiver of premium, an accelerated death benefit or a term conversion option change both the price and the policy. We walk through how each rider works, how much it adds to the premium and the circumstances where it earns that cost. If one does not fit your situation, we leave it off.
- 03
Straight talk about underwriting
Health history, medications, tobacco use and build all affect the rate class an insurer assigns. We tell you what the exam or health questionnaire will ask and how it can move the quote, so the final offer is not a surprise.
- 04
Beneficiaries set up correctly
The beneficiary designation, not the will, decides who receives the proceeds, so the form deserves real attention. We go over primary and contingent beneficiaries, and why naming a minor child directly can slow down a claim.
Where we work
We work with clients across Mission Viejo and nearby communities including Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Laguna Hills, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Woods, Coto de Caza, Las Flores, Irvine and Laguna Niguel. Most of the work happens by phone, and when it helps we can meet at your place of business to go through the application.
The questions change with the stage of life. Younger families often start with term life or mortgage protection insurance, while retirees tend to ask about final expense insurance and how whole life fits into an estate plan.
